Supabase Opens a Knowledge Base With Three Firebase Exit Guides
Supabase's new public-beta Knowledge Base ships 11 migration guides, three of them for leaving Firebase Auth, Storage and Firestore.

Supabase put a public-beta Knowledge Base online on Oct. 23, 2026, and three of its 11 migration guides are for developers leaving Firebase (Supabase changelog, “Supabase Knowledge Base,” Oct. 23, 2026).
What shipped
The Knowledge Base holds applied guides: how to fix a specific error, how to move to Supabase from another platform, and how to build a specific scenario. Supabase said it is launching with troubleshooting guides, now hosted under supabase.com/kb, and migration guides covering Amazon RDS, Auth0, Firebase, Heroku, MySQL, Neon, Render and others. The source lives in the supabase/supabase repository and is open to contributions, per the changelog.
Supabase’s migration index lists 11 guides. Three cover Firebase: Auth, Storage and Firestore. The other eight cover Amazon RDS, Auth0, Heroku, MSSQL, MySQL, Neon, plain Postgres and Render. The Firebase Auth guide is a two-step process using community scripts from the supabase-community/firebase-to-supabase repository. One script exports users from a Firebase project to a JSON file. A second imports them into the auth.users table. Supabase’s guide has developers download a Firebase Admin SDK private key and copy the project’s password hash parameters from the console first.
The take
The guides don’t change what Firebase does. They change what a Firebase developer finds when searching for a way out. Supabase already lists “Switch from Firebase” in its site footer. Now there are per-product guides for Auth, Storage and Firestore, filed beside a troubleshooting library that Supabase’s index counted at 235 guides.
This is documentation, not a product launch. The Auth path still runs on community-maintained scripts rather than a managed importer. Still, a competitor publishing the exit route next to its error fixes tells Firebase teams where Supabase wants them. Firebase’s recent blog posts, on spend caps and its Codex plugin, are about keeping developers building inside Firebase. Supabase is writing the manual for the ones who leave.

- Eleven migration guides are live. Three target Firebase: Auth, Storage and Firestore.
- The Firebase Auth path relies on community-maintained export and import scripts, not a managed tool.
- The content is open source in the
supabase/supabaserepository.
