Supabase Advisors Now Watch Service Error Rates, No Agent Required

The v1 release adds one check per service: PostgREST 5xx rate, Auth error rate, Storage error rate and Edge Functions error rate, each read from log data and assigned a severity level with a direct link to investigate, per the changelog. Results show up in a new Health tab inside the Advisors section of Supabase Studio, positioned above the existing Security tab, and the same checks are available programmatically through the Management API at POST /v2/projects/{ref}/advisors/run. Supabase says database connectivity probes and instance health checks are next on its roadmap, with further coverage shaped by user feedback.

Health joins Supabase’s existing Security Advisor and Performance Advisor, which already flag misconfigurations such as unindexed foreign keys, inefficient row-level security policies and duplicate indexes, per Supabase’s Advisors documentation. Health Check Advisors extends that same dashboard, not a separate product, so a team already checking Security and Performance findings gets error-rate visibility in the same place without adding a new tool.

The take

Five days ago, Firerun covered Supabase’s “Observability on Auto-Pilot” release, announced in Supabase’s changelog on Sept. 13, 2026, which handed developers four prepared prompts for an AI agent to run against a project’s health, performance, security and capacity, on a schedule the customer had to own. That piece argued the approach oversold “observability” for what amounted to table-stakes monitoring shipped as a script instead of a product, leaving customers to supply the harness and watch for silent failures.

Health Check Advisors is the dashboard-native version of exactly that table-stakes monitoring: error rates, surfaced automatically, with no agent, no prompt and no schedule to babysit. It doesn’t replace the agent-run checks. Performance, Security and Capacity are broader than four service error-rate counters, and Supabase hasn’t said it’s retiring the prompts, but it closed the gap this column flagged, and it did so within a week. That’s a good sign for how quickly Supabase is willing to move a capability from “prompt a customer runs” to “feature Supabase runs.” Whether Performance and Security get the same treatment as Health matures past v1 is the thing to check next.
